Goa is the ideal place to go to if you’re looking for a vacation filled with fun, relaxation, chilling out and partying.

Located on the western coast of India, this former Portuguese colony is just the right balance between the contemporary and the traditional, between fun and peace, between culture and nature. Characterized by sandy beaches and 100 m long-stretching coastlines dotted with seashells and pebbles, this beach town is also the site of some of the most picturesque village communities and locales one can image.

Although in recent times Goa has become associated with its rave parties and beach discs, these are entirely a matter of choice. For those who prefer more peaceful pastimes, one can just laze on the beach, play volleyball, explore old ruins, and stroll down quaint villages. For such activities the perfect place is the Divar Island, an isolated isle that can be reached only by ferry and away from the hustle-bustle of the mainland.

For the more energized lot there's Panaji, whose narrow streets are awash with remnants of the city’s Portuguese past. There is also a flea market, a vibrant night market complete with live music, and innumerable shops catering to a myriad tastes.

Goa also has excellent cuisine when it comes to seafood and is known for its choice of shops, bars and restaurants.

Depending on where you are located you can witness local fishermen pulling in their days catch or local women at work; you can go in cruises and watch the sun set against an orange sky; you can sip a tequila while swinging on a hammock strung between two trees; you can dance around a bonfire swaying to the strumming of guitar strings; you can walk down the village streets and pick up nick-knacks; you can feast on fish and prawns and wash it down with local concoctions, you can go for a swim or cycle down to some ruins or sun bath; or you could visit some of the most beautiful churches in the area and admire their architecture.

But whatever you may choose to do Goa will not leave you unaffected. The spirit of its people and the very atmosphere of its each nook and corner are infused with a sense of fun that makes you forget your worries and surrender to the moment, living it to the full.

Goa comprises of several beaches, some of the main ones of which are the Anjuna Beach, famous for its full-moon and rave parties, Baga Beach Benaulim Beach, Cavelosim Beach, Dona Paula, Varca Beach Vagator Beach Pololem Beach AND THE Miramar Beach. Each of these has its own specialty and essence, although despite their uniqueness they are joined together by the unifying spirit of the soul of Goa - a spirit that makes you dream and relax and loosen up and just revel in the luxury of life in its most basic pleasures surrounded by the best that nature has too often.
